CYIA has been a rush, literally!! The first couple days we had classes on how to teach the wordless book, how to counsel in salvation, and other tools. It has been a great couple days. I'm very proud of all my the people in my group as well as the others who went out for open air. We made contact with over 200 people, and of those people, 27 accepted Christ as their savior! The testimony time was excellent!
My personal testimony:
My group was sent to Wilton, Maine which is a tiny town about 30 minutes from camp. Two groups were going and my group had the opportunity to do face painting. We were placed next to a pond or lake side where there was a tiny beach area and a dock for people to jump off. We started off with a little boy who we told the story to, but he didn't really understand so we gave him a track and finished his face painting. After that we got about three kids who were all under the age of 2. I could tell that my group was getting disappointed by the age of the kids because they knew they wouldn't probably understand at the young age of 2. We eventually got some kids who were a little older, and one of those kids whom I talked to got saved (accepted christ). The cool thing was that later on, there was a man who brought his younger boy and then a girl came over without her dad. The dad eventually also came over and I got to talk to him because he was familiar with CEF which was awesome. As the dads left, the who with the son, asked the other dad, "what is so great about Jesus?" and the other man said, "I will tell you all about him". It was so cool to see how God was also working in that mans heart.
Now we are onto the next stage of CYIA which is the the 4-Day-Clubs, and the literature distribution. Monday went really and the literature distribution program handed out about 170 books. My was so proud of my group who handed out 41 of the 170! Today my group handed out about 25!
Please continue to pray for all the groups as the go to clubs and the literature program.
